A Week

of calm workouts

Welcome

to a growing deck of meditative cards

In conjunction with A Day, A Week (calm) is practiced during the Listen, Meditate, Pray, Exercise Rejuvenate, and/or Rest hours of the day, and as a series aims to curate a holistic idea of Self through the use of color and upon the breath, which consists of two parts: an inhale & exhale. Of the many yoga styles, my practice mimics Ashtanga yoga the most, in that each half of every breath, taken deeply through the nose only, is coupled with a movement, thereby setting an audible cadence for your practice that resembles the ocean’s waves. We begin with a wondrous array of light (which happens to be the only visible portion of electromagnetic spectrum for us humans) and segway through an evolving series of poses:

Breathe

Inhale

Inhalations involve the concerted contraction of several muscles in an effort to intake atmospheric air and are paired with extension and/or transitory poses in the following (calm) series.

Exhale

Exhalations, on the other hand, involve the passive release of such muscles to expel moistened, carbon dioxide waste and are paired with flexion poses and/or the full expression of poses in the following (calm) series.
